RESULTS

We aim to develop and approbate in practice the following tangible results:

Result 1: Guidelines handbook to university teachers/staff on supportive and preventive measures of aggression and bullying via inclusive approach

Our aim is to produce a handbook (and its national versions) that covers the definition and types of bullying and aggression, the impact on students with disabilities, strategies for prevention and intervention, and resources for support. The handbook content will be validated by experts in the field, ensuring its quality, accuracy, and relevance. In addition, we will make sure that the handbook will be available in an accessible format, such as an electronic book or PDF, to ensure that it can be easily read and understood by all users.

Result 2. Ontology framework and development of the online interactive tool based on CHATbot functionalities

Our aim is to develop chatbot interactive tool that offers personalized support and resources for
students experiencing bullying and aggression (including those with disabilities), incorporating artificial intelligence and natural language processing technologies. The chatbot will have a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate and understand, even for users with disabilities. We will make sure that the tool will be designed to be accessible for all users.

Result 3. Pilot implementation guidelines

The target groups of our project can be categorized into the following:

  • Students with disabilities: The primary target group of the project will be students with disabilities, including those with physical, sensory, cognitive, or mental health impairments. These students may face unique challenges and barriers to participation in university life, making them more vulnerable to bullying and aggression. The project will focus on providing support and resources (via interactive tool) and protection for these students, as well as raising awareness about their rights and needs.
  • Peers (non-disabled students): Non-disabled students are an important target group, as they play a significant role in shaping the university environment. The project activities aim to educate and empower these students to be allies and advocates for their disabled peers, challenging stereotypes and promoting a culture of respect and inclusion.
  • Universities staff and faculties: Staff and faculty members, including professors, administrators, and support staff, have a critical role in creating a safe and accessible environment for students with disabilities. With this project we will provide training and resources for university staff to better understand and address the needs of disabled students, as well as to intervene in cases of bullying and aggression.
  • Parents and guardians: Parents and guardians of students with disabilities may need support and guidance throughout their child’s university journey. We will engage parents and guardians, providing them with information and resources to help their children navigate the university environment and respond to any incidents of bullying or aggression.
  • Policy makers and administrators: We will involve them to report on the realisation of the project and its impact as they play a crucial role in shaping the universities environment and implementing policies that promote accessibility and inclusion.

Result 4. Establishment and maintenance of European Comunity of practice on resilience and prevention of bullying and aggression.

The community of practice will encourage collaboration among project partners and stakeholders, which can lead to the development of new partnerships and initiatives that support the project’s objectives. By disseminating the project’s findings and resources widely, the work package will help to ensure that
the project’s resources are considered in the development of policies related to preventing aggression and bullying among students.
